Mixon (concussion) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

Analysis: While added context is required to get a better read regarding how close Mixon is to being medically cleared in advance of Sunday's game against the Vikings, his limited practice participation Sunday is nonetheless a positive indicator with regard to his Week 15 availability.

Taylor (knee) practiced again Thursday but coach Sean McDermott would not commit to him as a starter for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Mike Rodak of reports. "We're working that direction. We just got to see. Obviously he's worked more this week than last week, so that's a step in the right direction," said McDermott. "I want to come out tomorrow and see how he does tomorrow."

Analysis: Fellow quarterback Nathan Peterman remains in concussion protocol and practiced again Thursday around the restrictions that get placed in such situations. The thinking is Taylor will be the guy this week, since McDermott has said all along he's the starter once fully ready to play, but owners should certainly wait for official confirmation following Friday's practice or ahead of Sunday's 1pm ET start time.

As of Thursday, Peterman remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, Mike Rodak of reports.

Analysis: He's been able to work in a limited fashion, but with fellow QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) practicing fully, Peterman is poised to revert to backup duty if he gains medical clearance in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. In the event that Peterman is unavailable this weekend, Joe Webb would slot in behind Taylor in Week 15.

Bell (shoulder) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Analysis: Just like Bell, fellow tight end Kyle Rudolph (ankle) was also sidelined for the second day of practice in a row. Though Rudolph, the team's starting tight end, is the far superior fantasy option, Bell's status is of more import heading into Sunday's game against the Bengals with Rudolph looking iffy for the contest. If Bell and Rudolph are both sidelined, the Vikings could be forced to turn to David Morgan -- who has yet to receive official clearance from the NFL's concussion protocol -- to handle nearly all the snaps at tight end Sunday.

Rudolph (ankle) isn't taking part in practice Thursday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Analysis: With Rudolph opening Week 15 preparations with two straight absences from practice, the tight end is looking highly questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Given that he was fitted for a walking boot following the Week 14 loss to the Panthers, it wouldn't be too surprising if Rudolph was sidelined for the first time all season. In that scenario, David Morgan (concussion) and Blake Bell (shoulder) could share the snaps at tight end, assuming both are cleared of their respective injuries.
